Alistair Fyfe , MD. PhD. FACP.
As a physician scientist, entrepreneur and educator, Dr Fyfe was raised on a sheep ranch in Tasmania, Australia, and attended Medical School at age 17. Developing a love for research he published his first scientific paper at age 20, which formed the basis for the use of CAR-T cell therapy to treat leukemia. He completed a Molecular Biology PhD at UCLA in less than 3 years. During his time at UCLA he delivered many lectures on heart disease prevention, heart failure, transplantation and gene therapy both nationally and internationally.
After moving to Dallas in 1999, he practiced cardiology and became an early adopter and proponent of calcium scoring as an early marker for coronary events. Dr Fyfe later moved to Oxford UK to complete an executive MBA with the specific goal of finding entrepreneurial solutions to healthcare in evolving markets.
He recently founded APTAMETRIX, which uses 7000+ proteomic markers and genome sequencing to bring individualized “disease-scapes” to patients as a method of identifying precision interventions for both prevention and disease management.
In his leisure time, Dr Fyfe is a Coast Guard Master who enjoys yachting in Puget Sound, a Cordon Bleu trained chef and abstract painter.
